Over 150 Participate in 2019 ARCPA Day of Service

October 17, 2019

On Friday, September 27, Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants hosted its second annual Day of Service to allow its members the opportunity to give back to their community through volunteerism.

Because of the over 150 people that participated, who willingly gave their time, the following organization and communities were positively impacted:

  • The GO Store, Coway

  • The Rockin' Baker, Fayetteville
  • UAFS Lion Pride Student Food Pantry, Fort Smith
  • Hot Springs National Park, Hot Springs
  • Northeast Arkansas Food Bank, Jonesboro
  • Arkansas Food Bank, Little Rock
  • Camp Aldersgate, Little Rock
  • Joseph Pfeifer Kiwanis Camp, Little Rock
  • Stephens Elementary School, Little Rock
  • Tacos 4 Life Mobile Pack, Little Rock
  • Women and Children’s Shelter, Little Rock
  • Boys and Girls Club, Magnolia
  • Bridge Bash for Food Bank of North Central AR, Mountain Home
  • Northwest AR Food Bank, Rogers
  • Sherwood Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association, Sherwood
  • Arkansas Children's Hospital Northwest, Springdale
  • Down Syndrome Association of Memphis & Mid-South, Memphis/West Memphis

Members were encouraged to coordinate a service project at an organization of their choice, and to register their plans with the Arkansas Society of CPAs. The first 150 registrants were able to receive a free T-shirt to wear during their volunteer activity.

The CPA Day of Service is an opportunity for individual members or groups across Arkansas to volunteer and demonstrate that CPAs are involved in their communities as well as their profession.
