Tax Institute
To
organize and implement the Annual Tax Institute wherein the problems of

Industry
and Commerce
To

effectively implement the established legislative policy of the ASCPA and the
State Board of Public Accountancy. To

Nominations
To
select a slate of proposed Society officers and to place that slate into
nomination at the Annual Meeting. To
select a recommendation to be submitted to the Governor, upon ASCPA Board
Approval, to serve on the State Board of Public Accountancy, as positions

Peer
Review
To
establish and administer the AICPA Peer Review Program for Arkansas public
accounting firms in accordance with AICPA standards.
To recommend the development of educational materials and programs for

Professional
Ethics
To
review complaints against members of alleged violations of professional
conduct under the bylaws and rules of professional conduct of the ASCPA and
initiate investigations through the AICPA Joint Ethics Enforcement Program
(JEEP), and act as the ASCPA Liaison in JEEP investigations and serve as the

Public
Relations
To
develop a program of public information and public relations.
To improve public acceptance of the CPA and the Accounting Profession
in Arkansas. To coordinate public service activities with other committees and

Taxation
To
report to the Society changes in legislation concerning taxation. To stay
abreast of the membership's recommendations for amendments to the federal
income tax laws and to communicate these issues to the AICPA.

exercise authority over the Society operations, within the policy framework

review and approve the budget prepared by the ASCPA Executive Director and the
Finance Manager and to present the budget to the Board of Directors. To assist
the ASCPA Board of Directors in fulfilling responsibilities for the Society’s
financial reporting and internal controls; to oversee the external audit
process; to monitor organization’s compliance with laws and regulations; and
